Egg Farmers of Ontario Bring Egg-ducation to the Ottawa School Breakfast Program!

29 April 2014 / Programme des petits déjeuners

Egg Farmers of Ontario Chairman (EFO), Scott Graham and General Manager, Harry Pelissero arrived in Ottawa today with Bruce Weber to kick off a week-long tour of the EFO’s Egg Education Trailer to 7 Ottawa schools.

The Egg Education Trailer tour is part of EFO’s new partnership with the Ottawa Network for Education (ONFE) in support of their Ottawa School Breakfast Program (OSBP). EFO provided a $15,000 grant to help ONFE increase egg consumption in its school breakfast programs and is now also offering local students a unique opportunity to learn first-hand about Ontario egg production.

Mr. Weber will tour the Egg Education Trailer (a miniature egg farm on wheels) to over 1000 Ottawa students this week; they will have an opportunity to see live chicks and egg-laying pullets demonstrate the various stages of egg production.

Egg Farmers of Ontario represents the approximately 440 egg farmers and pullet growers in Ontario. It is an independent, self-governing organization funded entirely by egg and pullet farmers.
